Let’s take a look at the Telugu comedy movies released from 2025 up to the present day in 2026. Many comedy films were released in Telugu during these two years; let’s identify the top 10 among them.
Sankraantiki Vastunnaam: This was the best comedy and family-oriented movie released in 2025. Directed by Anil Ravipudi, the film stars Venkatesh in the lead role. Some viewers disliked the fact that a young child delivered adult-oriented dialogues and engaged in comedy by scolding adults. However, as the saying goes, one should view a movie simply as a movie; if you watch it with that mindset, you can certainly laugh at those moments. One shouldn’t look for too much logic in Anil Ravipudi’s films. This movie is available on ZEE5 and Amazon Prime—do give it a watch. Personally, I laughed a lot while watching it in the theater.
Brahma Anandam: Streaming on Aha, this film is a comedy-driven movie infused with emotional elements. Released in Telugu in 2025, Brahma Anandam was produced by Rahul Yadav Nakka under the Swadharm Entertainment banner and directed by R.V.S. Nikhil. Starring Brahmanandam, Raja Goutham, Priya Vadlamani, and Aishwarya Holakkal in lead roles, the film was released in theaters on February 14 and on OTT platforms in March. Although Brahmanandam’s performance was excellent, the film received a mixed response due to the slow pace of its storytelling. The Brahmanandam seen in this movie is vastly different from the one I was used to seeing in the past. I was surprised when I watched it in the theater; with his white beard, he looks like a very old man now. Nevertheless, his acting is excellent.
MAD Square: The makers produced this sequel following the success of the first part, MAD. Narne Nithin, Sangeeth Shobhan, and Ram Nithin display great comic timing. Released on April 25, 2025, and available on Netflix, this film is a must-watch in the comedy genre. Setting aside the lack of a novel storyline, it can be described as a family-friendly comedy entertainer. The current generation will really enjoy this movie; I personally found it very good.
Little Hearts: This movie was released on OTT platforms like ETV Win and Netflix. Released on October 1, 2025, this comedy-oriented film has entertained audiences. It is a thoroughly youthful, cute, and lovely family entertainer. Akhil (Mauli Tanuj) and Katyayani (Shivani Nagaram) play the lead roles. I felt this movie was on another level; it truly captivated me and made real life feel tangible. The way the characters fall in love while studying together at a coaching center unfolds with plenty of humor. Director Sai Marthand crafted it beautifully. It features a youthful and clean romance, a cute love track, and a great blend of comedy and emotional scenes. Do watch it right away. 5. Neeli Megha Shyama: This movie was released directly on the Aha OTT platform on January 9, 2025. Starring Vishwadev Rachakonda and Payal Radhakrishna as the lead pair, it is a fine romantic drama. The love story, set against the backdrop of the Himalayas, is delightful. Director Ravi S. Varma has crafted it with a fresh approach. It is a must-watch; I enjoy romantic movies, and I really liked this one. With its blend of humor and romance, the time flew by while watching it. You should watch it too.
Mithra Mandali: This comedy film was released on Amazon Prime on November 6, 2025. It features Priyadarshi, Niharika NM, Vennela Kishore, and Satya in lead roles. The story unfolds in a simple, rural setting, featuring good comedy and emotional moments. Although it didn’t perform very well in theaters, the trimmed version available on OTT is excellent. The story closely resembles the atmosphere of my own village, which involves elements of politics, village life, and caste dynamics; watching it reminded me of home. You will likely connect with it too—give it a watch.
Shubham: This movie was released on JioHotstar and Airtel Xstream Play. ‘Shubham’ marks the debut production of star heroine Samantha Ruth Prabhu. Released on OTT in June 2025, the film offers an entertaining and thrilling experience. The story revolves around Srinivas, a cable TV operator, and Srivalli, an intelligent MBA graduate, in a village setting. Harshit Reddy, Gavireddy Srinivas, Charan Peri, and Shriya also play key roles. It’s a good watch—do check it out. It was great seeing Samantha on screen after such a long time; her performance is excellent. You’ll like it too.
Anaganaga: Starring Sumanth as the lead, the movie Anaganaga was released directly on the OTT platform ‘ETV Win’ on May 15, 2025. It is a film that questions the education system of corporate schools and the pressure parents place on their children. I learned a lot from watching it. Both parents and children should watch movies like this. The father-son sentiment is touching. It’s hard for me to watch my own son getting stressed out by this corporate-style education, but what can we do? Doesn’t it make you feel sad too, seeing your children lose their childhood while studying day and night?
The Great Pre-Wedding Show: Released on ZEE5 on December 5, 2025, this is an entertaining movie. I watched it using a friend’s ZEE5 account. It is a feel-good village comedy-drama. The protagonist, Ramesh (played by Thiruveer), is a small-time village photographer. The Srikakulam dialect used in the film is great; I really enjoyed it. You should watch it too.
Psych Siddhartha: Streaming on Aha since January 1, 2026. The story follows a young man named Siddhartha who loses millions and ends up destitute after being betrayed in both business and love. Sri Nandu plays this role. I didn’t find it boring at all; the film contains many themes that are relevant for the youth. Give it a watch.
